MEDIA + EVENT WORKFLOW

From media vault to show-ready cue.

Ascension keeps media discovery, technical references, nondestructive preparation and event organization connected from the first import through playback.

Central media workflow

One source can serve the CueBoard, Timeline and output designer.

Discover supported media in the configured library, generate visual references and prepare behavior for each show context without creating altered copies of the original file.

01

Automatic discovery

Scan the configured media vault and update the available collection as supported files are added.

02

Technical references

Use available duration, frame rate, resolution, audio and format information while programming.

03

Thumbnails and waveforms

Identify visual media and supported audio timing without relying on filenames alone.

04

Mixed media

Work with video, stills, audio, templates, browser sources, live inputs and supported network sources.

05

Event organization

Keep CueBoards, timelines, layer defaults, presets and control layouts together as an event.

06

Backup and portability

Back up, restore, export and import production configuration independently of the original media files.

TRIM EDITOR

Set the usable range.

Choose nondestructive in and out points before the asset enters the show.

CueBoard asset properties
CUEBOARD PROPERTIES

Prepare the live action.

Configure routing, transition, loop and cue-specific behavior.

Timeline asset properties
TIMELINE PROPERTIES

Prepare the programmed action.

Configure timing, transition and routing for the timeline instance.

Playback optimization

Prepare demanding media for the show machine.

Not every source file arrives in a format designed for predictable real-time playback. Ascension can create a playback-optimized video master directly from the media workflow while keeping the original source intact.

  • Generate CineForm playback masters inside Ascension
  • Use HAP Q as an alternate optimized format when required
  • Retain the original source as the production master
  • Follow encoding progress directly in the Ascension interface
  • Detect media that is currently busy before attempting optimization

Media vault location

Place production data where the system requires it.

Ascension supports a configurable data-vault location so media records, thumbnails, waveforms and event data can live on storage selected for the production system.
